FEATURED WINES

Featured Wines :: Live Music :: Facts & Toasts

With access to over 35,000 wines from around the world, we think you'll find the wines you already love and some new wines to try along the way.  Our varietals include: Cabernet Sauvignon, Champagne, Chardonnay, Chianti, Gewurztraminer, Grenache, Malbec, Merlot, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Sangiovese, Shiraz, Syrah, Viognier, Zinfandel, and so many more!

Our featured wines at this time include:

2005 Solo Rosa Rose, California, $15
Whenever I cook spicy foods like Mediterranean, I try to pair with a strong, dry rose. When I tried the Solo Rosa Rose I was sure the winemaker made it just for me. The color is nearly dark enough to pass for red and the nose would even make you think it was much darker. This is the rose for red wine drinkers. Bone dry with great structure, don’t disrespect it by failing to give it spicy foods or at least some sushi. Drink young.

Gmork Gruner Veltliner, Austria, $14
If you eat asparagus and artichoke then you need this wine. Tons of acid and not suited for sipping, this wine pairs beautifully with high-acid foods. I recently paired this with chevre drenched in sun dried tomatoes and pesto; while no diets are based on this combo, I swear it tasted great!

River Arie Sangiovese, Washington, $17
This is Erin’s current favorite daily drinker red wine. Full of rich berry flavors and well balanced acid, this wine is light enough to sip and hearty enough to throw with your favorite cheeses and detective novel. Long, wonderful finish of chocolate and coconut.

2005 UNTI Segromigno, California, $24.50
This 89% Sangiovese based blend is given grip and spice with the addition of 7% Syrah and 4
% Barbera. Bright and acidic, with lots lot interesting flavors. Enjoy this wine in place of a traditional Italian wine when you want the structure and balance with less earthy terroir showing through.

2003 Robinson ADEA Dean-O’s Pinot Noir, Oregon, $32
Aside from being the most entertaining winemaker in all of Oregon, Dean Fisher throws down with an awesome Pinot. Big enough to age 5-8 years, also well balanced and rich for a nice dinner wine. While true to its pinot roots, it’s also full of fruit flavors. Tasty.

2005 Capitello Pinot Noir, Oregon, $34.50
New Zealand born winemaker, Ray Walsh (formerly of King Estates) has proven once and for all that an age worthy pinot doesn’t have to be unapproachable when young. By using a slow-toasted French oak program, his wines has soft, well rounded tannins with a slight smokiness and a burst of dark fruit.

2003 Egelhoff Cabernet Sauvignon, California $89.50
Holy Smokes!! Bob Egelhoff (of David Arthur Winery) comes on the scene with his private label Napa Cabernet like a fire in the night. This wine is worth every penny starting with the rich, aromatic nose, carrying through to the deep, multifaceted palate and ending with a finish that goes on forever. This wine is exactly what I love in a cab, it’s rich, dark, and has hints of chocolate throughout. I’d drink this wine daily if money were no object; however, money is an object; so I’ll drink it on occasion. Stellar wine!
